Protocol for Exploring Feasibility of More Stamina: An mHealth App for Fatigue Management in MS

This is a study protocol designed for the evaluation of “More Stamina,” a mHealth app designed to help individuals with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) manage fatigue. The approach intends to use a mixed-methods, multicenter study to assess the app’s feasibility, acceptability, and usability among MS patients in Argentina, Spain, and Switzerland. The study incorporates both qualitative and quantitative methods to explore user engagement, behavior changes, and usability.

What was the context of the study?

Fatigue is one of the most common and disabling symptoms for people with MS, making everyday life challenging. A new app called “More Stamina” was created to help MS patients manage their energy by planning tasks and tracking their progress. This study explores whether the app works well for its users.

What did we do?

We planned a study with 60 MS patients from three countries—Argentina, Spain, and Switzerland. The purpose was to ask participants to use the app for two months while completing tasks and providing feedback.

What did we find?

This manuscript is a research plan that was focused on understanding if the app was helpful and easy to use. It used surveys, interviews, and app activity logs to gather data.

Why is this important?

Apps like “More Stamina” can empower people with MS to take control of their health. This study will help improve the app and demonstrate how digital tools can make life easier for people with chronic conditions.
